The aviation is an essential element of the Swiss economic system. Traffic is prerequisite for trade, cultural exchange and prosperity.
SIAA was established on 19. December 2000 in Bern as a society in the sense of articles 60 ff of the Swiss civil code. The goal of the association is to preserve and to promote joint interests of the airports of Switzerland. The priority is the intensification of the collaboration and the exchange of information, the utilization of synergies, the protection of joint interests’ vis-à-vis customers, partners and authorities and the care of the relations with national and international aviation organizations.
The members of SIAA are the airports Basle-Mulhouse, Bern-Belp, Geneva, Lugano, St. Gallen-Altenrhein and Zurich.
In 2010 the SIAA airports handled together:
